Do you cancel your pub night with your pals? Cancel your family dinner? Your meeting with your boss?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of course not. The first thing to be removed from a busy schedule is always the English lesson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image is-style-default\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"217\" height=\"255\" src=\"http:\/\/7v6.ca4.mywebsitetransfer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/busy-schedule-min.png\" alt=\"a busy schedule\" class=\"wp-image-157\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tips.teacher-creature.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/busy-schedule-min.png 217w, https:\/\/tips.teacher-creature.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/busy-schedule-min-10x12.png 10w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 217px) 100vw, 217px\" \/><figcaption>When your schedule gets out of control, the first thing to go is your english lesson<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>And when that begins, it becomes easier and easier to cancel more and more often.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Soon, four hours a week (which isn&#8217;t much to begin with) becomes zero hours a week. A year goes by and one day you&#8217;re in a meeting pretending to understand the client from the UK and you wonder, Why does my English still suck&#8230;?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>BETWEEN-LESSON MISTAKE #3:<\/strong> You Torture Yourself With Grammar\u00a0Homework<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Did you take English in school?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Did you study it? Memorize lists? Learn rules? Take tests?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>How did that turn out?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Well, since you\u2019re searching for an English teachers on <a href=\"https:\/\/teacher-creature.com\/prague\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Teacher Creature<\/a>, my guess is, the result probably was not ideal.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So why repeat the mistakes of the past?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s right, the traditional methods are rubbish!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Text books\u2026 drills\u2026 exercises\u2026 word lists\u2026 grammar rules\u2026 and the endless exceptions to the rules\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rubbish! Rubbish! Rubbish! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image is-style-default\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"382\" height=\"573\" src=\"http:\/\/7v6.ca4.mywebsitetransfer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/trash-can-2-min-edited.jpg\" alt=\"a rubbish bin\" class=\"wp-image-155\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tips.teacher-creature.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/trash-can-2-min-edited.jpg 382w, https:\/\/tips.teacher-creature.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/trash-can-2-min-edited-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/tips.teacher-creature.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/trash-can-2-min-edited-8x12.jpg 8w, https:\/\/tips.teacher-creature.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/trash-can-2-min-edited-380x570.jpg 380w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 382px) 100vw, 382px\" \/><figcaption>Already intermediate? here&#8217;s where your grammar books belong-in the rubbish bin<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>For an adult past the beginner stage, continuing with these methods is a mistake.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The traditional classroom methods (also known as \u201cdrill and kill\u201d) can only get you to a certain level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To become the adult who confidently does what he\/she needs to do and achieves his dreams using the English language, you\u2019ll need to leave these methods behind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to linguists, language researchers, polyglots, and my fluent friends and fluent students, the best way to improve your English when you can&#8217;t speak is to <a href=\"http:\/\/7v6.ca4.mywebsitetransfer.com\/en\/better-english-daily\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">read, listen and watch TV<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So ask your teacher what he&#8217;s watching on Netflix. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ask your teacher what podcasts she&#8217;s listening to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Or ask your teacher what news websites he recommends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And that&#8217;s the kind of homework you&#8217;ll actually do, enjoy and get fluent from. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lessons are good.
